People should be able to forge their own path, even if that path is risky. Your personal decision to take on a mortgage, or your neighborhood’s decision to fill a pothole, shouldn’t be so highly regulated that you have to wait for some government agency to tell you you can do it. If the community begins to take accountability and responsibility for itself, it will be stronger for it.

I support actions that:

  • remove unnecessary regulation from matters of local community interest, and
  • reward communities for addressing issues at a neighborhood or local level.
